Description: Deals with the design of new University buildings, and the design of the renovation or expansion of existing buildings.

Policy

The design of all new University buildings shall be carried out either by Design Build or an Architectural firm selected on a competitive basis. This policy also extends to the design of the renovation or expansion of existing buildings and of major public spaces where the work will change or add to the appearance.

The competitive process shall be conducted in accordance with the prescribed University Procedures for the selection of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Design Builders.

The Vice-President Finance and Administration is authorized to develop and amend procedures under this policy as required.
